Who Are One Tree Planted?

One Tree Planted are a non-profit environmental public 501 (c)(3) charity created by Matt Hill in Shelburne, Vermont in 2014.

How Do I Know My Tree Is Being Planted?

We work hard to keep you in the loop on how your donation is being used. When your planting session takes place, We will then send you an update with photos and information provided by our reforestation partners.

This will include details such as the tree species planted, expected survival rates,  community engagement, and ecological benefits all contributing to a greener future.

How Many Trees Have Been Planted By One Tree Planted?

As of August 2020, One Tree Planted has been able to plant 11 million trees in the ground since they started in 2014!

How Does It Work?

One Tree Planted partner with carefully selected reforestation organisations in 4 regions: North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. one pound plants one tree. They pool the donations for each project and send the funds to there reforestation partner, enabling them to cover the costs required to get these trees in the ground.

Tree costs vary based on region, partner, and unique overall objective of a reforestation project. Below is a simple average breakdown of how we get trees planted, and in some cases there are additional or greater costs to account for.

In those instances we may combine resources with partners for co-funding to make a bigger impact at scale, but you can rest assured knowing that your donations will always go towards restoring healthy and thriving forests.

When Will My Tree Be Planted?

The time between your donation and the actual tree planting will vary depending on the region and the time of year. Planting usually takes place during the rainy season, when the soil provides optimum conditions for tree survival.

What Happens To Your Tree If You Cancel Your Order?

We will still plant the tree and no extra costs will be charged from your refund.
